e-Business Overview

In today's global marketplace the Internet, as a marketing, communication, and transactional platform, has been integrated into almost every organization's business model. The Internet has allowed business-to-business and business-to-consumer relationships to soar to new heights and has transformed many organizations into e-businesses. An e-business is defined as an organization that connects critical business systems and processes directly to key customers, employees, suppliers and distributors using the Web (the Internet, intranets and extranets). This has allowed organizations to achieve greater efficiencies in their transaction processing models, distribution channels and customer relationship management.   • User Security -- Assuring users privacy, confidentiality, and data integrity.
